Smoke Trolley Washer – RWA Series.
The RWA series smoke trolley washer is designed for cleaning smoke trolleys measuring 1,000 × 1,000 × 2,000 mm. Depending on the type and level of soiling, approx. 20–30 trolleys can be cleaned per hour. During the wash process, the spray arms rotate around the positioned trolley and clean it from all sides.

Which Smoke Trolleys Can Be Cleaned?
The RWA can clean smoke trolleys with four wheels – two swivel and two fixed castors – as well as trolleys with six wheels.
The system is designed for the following types of soiling, among others:
- Meat residues
- Fat
- Protein
- Smoke residues
How the Smoke Trolley Washer Works.
Before cleaning begins, the system is switched on and the wash tank is filled automatically. With the appropriate equipment, detergent is dosed automatically while the tank is being filled. Once the intended fill level has been reached, the wash program can be started.
The smoke trolley washer is freestanding and mounted on the floor. The smoke trolley is pushed into the wash chamber via a ramp and positioned inside. The system can optionally be recessed into the floor to enable floor-level loading.
After the loading door has been closed and the start has been confirmed, the wash cycle begins. During the wash process, the spray arms rotate around the trolley and clean it from all sides.
At the end of the wash cycle, a visual signal indicates that the program has finished. The door can then be opened and the cleaned smoke trolley removed.
The wash cycle is adjustable and takes approx. 3–6 minutes for an example configuration. It consists of the following steps:
- Loading the smoke trolley and closing the loading door
- Washing
- Rinsing at 85 °C
- Vapor extraction inside the machine, depending on the equipment configuration
- Opening the door and removing the smoke trolley
Depending on the configuration, the RWA is available with one or two doors.
The smoke trolley washer is controlled by a Siemens S7-1200 PLC. The integrated touch panel allows the customer to edit wash programs, read error messages and check the current system status.
The wash tank is filled automatically via solenoid valves. Control probes monitor the fill level. A quick-drain valve is fitted as standard for emptying the wash tank.
The electrically driven stainless steel centrifugal pump is equipped with IP55 motor protection.
The door is operated manually and monitored by a safety switch. If it is opened during the wash program, the program stops. An emergency stop pull-cord switch is also located inside the wash chamber, allowing the system to be stopped from inside.

The wash system consists of a vertically installed stainless steel medium-pressure centrifugal pump, stainless steel pipework with high-performance spray nozzles and a stainless steel filter in the tank.
Depending on the configuration, the tank can be heated by direct steam injection or an electric screw-in heating element. For electrically heated systems, a continuous-flow water heater can be provided for the final rinse at an additional cost.
The smoke trolley washer can be adapted to the operational requirements. Depending on the configuration, the following options are available:

With the RWA, the smoke trolley remains stationary during the wash process. The spray arms rotate around the positioned trolley.
With the KRW.1, the trolley rotates on a turntable while the spray arms move up and down. In addition, the pre-rinse water is discharged directly via a baffle.
Both systems can be configured to suit the items to be cleaned and the operational requirements.
